Students and dental practitioners who have completed this five-day CPD course will have developed a further understanding in periodontology, with emphasis on diagnosis, treatment planning and clinical management, as well as the role of periodontics in daily clinical practice. The course objects are: providing a comprehensive introduction to periodontology in both surgical and non-surgical therapy, emphasising the biologic and clinical concepts through clinical cases back with evidence-based approaches; furthering understanding of the importance of periodontics in clinical practice as well as multi-disciplinary settings; furthering understanding of treatment planning and management of patients with periodontal diseases, including implants as an option; and improving and sharpening clinical skills in diagnostic, non-surgical and surgical aspects of periodontology.

This short course covers key concepts and global issues in child health and disability. It also provides a background to evidence-based child health interventions and knowledge of common childhood illnesses and strategies on how to control these in developing countries. Participants have the opportunity to share experiences with a wide range of people, including clinicians and those with experience of non-governmental organisations (NGOs).
